4000 VIEWS - MERRY XMAS!

Oh, nice!
I was hoping I will get 4000 views before 2013 :)
Thx a lot guys!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
.. from me and my wife :)

FIRST EXAM IS DONE

I finished the test with 80% on my first CompTIA A+ exam... not the best but good enough :)
I have to make sure to pass the next one too. And that is a bit harder. Cannot risk it this week because the exam cost £140. So I'll do it January.

Was not too funny when I got a nasty accident on the way there.
As usual I took my bicycle for the road.. and after 10 min my wheel broke.
No flat tire, no broken spokes. The axle broke and I had to decide what to do, cause I couldn't be late for the exam. I decided not to push the bike, but ride it.. hehehe! It was a very noisy journey.

MY THEORY ABOUT SMARTNESS

Ok, here is what I think (now)... maybe later I will change my mind... I dunno yet.

I think there are no smart people. But there are people with the ability to keep their concentration at high level when they do or learn something. They are very good at paying attention, and when it comes to problem solving, they are the "smart" ones. Because their brain works more efficient, they can make decisions faster and can come up with  more creative solutions. Unfortunately I'm not good at concentration. Maybe because I do things I'm not much interested in. But on the other way, even if I do something reaaaaaly interesting, after a time I get bored, and my attention drops. That's not very good. I wouldn't call myself dumb, but I'm definitely not very smart. Hmmm. So, experienced on myself, I noticed when I learn something and I understand it totally, that makes me "smarter" in that subject and I even get new ideas, my mind works beyond reality, going wild, whatever... When we can concentrate, we will understand everything easier. This will make a deeper "impact" in the memory and helps the brain to use the information later.
Big eats small.
Strong eats weak.
Fast beats slow.
Smart wins over dumb.
... and at the end the one who survives is the one with more friends.

ACTIVE COOLING - MY WAY :)

If u have an old laptop (or a new but crap) which likes to overheat and the graphic chip stops working, than my friend, u are having the same problem what I have.
But don't worry, here is the solution.
Let's say you can turn on the laptop but there is nothing at all on the screen. Full blackness.
Well, if u are lucky, than u can remove the GPU from the motherboard. You find it on an extra board which is inserted into a slot. Just like the memory. (see photo how it looks) But is not visible until u remove the heat-sink from the top of it. When u did that, remove the old thermal compound from the chip and from the heat-sink too. Now take your "video-card" and put it in the oven for 15 minutes on 200 °C. No joke. When done, let it cool down. Is hot dammit! ... Now put it back. Before u replace the heat-sink, don't forget to apply new thermal paste on the chip (I use Arctic MX-4). Now reassemble your laptop and with the help of God, it will work again.
After all this u need to find a way to cool your machine, because the small in-built fan will not do the job and after 3-6 month your GPU will die again. (Than u have to bake it again)

Here is what I do. Maybe you can see on the photo that I opened (drastic cut, barbarian style) the bottom of the laptop so I can access the GPU without taking apart the whole machine. Of course I had to open up large enough so I can easily remove the heatsink with the copper pipes, which are in the way. I am using a small battery-fan to cool the "critical" engine and it really works well. Sometimes I have to do a little dusting, but not a problem. To fit the fan under the laptop, I built a wooden frame which is serving as a mini computer desk. Very handy, made from scratch. This is how I do active cooling :)

HOW TO ENABLE BUILT-IN WEBCAM ON A LAPTOP?

My Device Manager did not show Imaging Devices, so it was impossible to check what is the problem with my webcam.

Here is a good tip which I found on  HP's website.
(my laptop is not an HP but the method worked perfectly)
Turn off the computer, unplug power cable, remove the battery, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. After this, connect everything again and turn on the laptop. Ta-daaa! Webcam works.

But actually it was only a temporary solution. The real problem was that if too many usb-devices were connected to the laptop, it could not reserve enough power to the webcam. So now before I turn on the computer, I unplug my usb-speakers and the external hard drives. That will ensure that the webcam will work.

Another chance to fix this "power-related" issue is the following method: Extremely simple - plug the usb-speaker or the external hard drive to a different usb connection on the laptop. I got 4, but usually every laptop has at least 3 of them.

LONG TIME, EH?

What is going on with me?
Not much.
I stay home and study IT.

I could say I'm changing my career, but it's only half true. I would not call career being a waiter. That was a job only for fast money. After finishing the university I never imagined that I will ever serve food and drink to people. Now I am too old for that, also never really liked the work system in a restaurant. The low payment, the annoyingly stressful rush hours, the asshole managers (with a few exceptions). So I quit!

When I got married and finished with shiplife, we moved to London and hoped to make some money. It was pretty much logical and manageable. Still, life gave us a few surprises which crashed our plans. Once up, next down. I guess most of you know how it is.

I started looking for a job in September, when one day I got a phone-call from a recruitment company. It was one I signed up maybe a year ago. They offered me an appointment for an IT course. I thought let's give it a chance. Long story short, I applied because comparing to other IT courses it cost only 1000 pounds. Which I can afford.

I must say I am really enjoying my new studies, although I know that to find a job without previous work experiences will be very hard. But right now I feel good, because I do something I enjoy and I am interested in. I got a 40 hour online video material and a 900 page book to learn until the end of November. Since I was always into technology, computers and such stuff, learning goes fast and easy. I get day by day shitload of new information into my braincells, but is goooood :) The 40 hours video sounds fun and short but trust me, it is not. Well it IS fun, but it's also serious and to go through 30 min, sometimes takes me more than an hour. However the book might sound long and hard, but it is very logic, easy to understand and interesting. Finally something what I should have done looong-long time ago. Maybe right after high school, dammit!

So that is going on right now.

Take it easy, everyone!

BETTER THAN IT COULD HAVE BEEN

The price for the scooter - caused by the theft - will cost us £300. Not £2000 as we thought.
Still... it did not make me happy, but I feel better and relieved.
Unfortunately - because of this - I couldn't enjoy the happiness for leaving my job behind.
Would have been too nice of course. Life is not fair once more.

This situation just made our weekend unenjoyable, depressing. The weather was also crap.. as usual in London. Now is Monday. The sky was cloudy all day. It's getting late when the sun comes back. This is also typical. No point going out and enjoy it. It is 7pm already. I really start to consider to leave this country and give up all it's benefits for a place with more sunshine. Something for something... right?

I watched movies all day... the Bourne-Trilogy. I like them a lot. Kind of make me want to watch more like them. But I decided to watch the Godfather. I had to w8 35 minutes until the first exciting thing happened. I guess this old movies are not for me. Most of them are too long and boring... only the last minutes are interesting. I keep watching because everybody say this is a great film. Let's see what I will say :)

..ok, good movie :)

NO GOOD

Police came, checked the scene, can not help.
Reg.Nr. of scooter is in police system, but not much chance to find it anyways.
Now we only can hope that we don't have to pay for the scooter :(
That sucks.

ANOTHER THEFT

Today our 'replacement' scooter was stolen from the garage. Daytime! - Fuck!
If we have to pay for it, our holiday will be fucked!
Damn!
Waiting for police...

FINISHED THE JOB :))

Finally I quit my job!
As much happy I was when I got it 2 and a half years ago, as happy I am now to leave that place behind :)

It means a lot when I think about: No more shitty little things to piss me off. No more asshole who enjoys to stretch my nerves. No more unpractical, unhygienic and messy equipment to handle. No more thoughts about how much money the company takes away from me. No more starting and finishing a shift with an angry, boiling mind!

I traveled 12000 km to work by bicycle which is a pretty nice achievement.

No more comments... let's just forget them :)
Time to move on!

LEAVING THE SOLAR SYSTEM

It is going to be a very exciting couple months in the scientific word! Space explorer Voyager 1 is about to enter interstellar space, leaving the solar system behind.
The Voyager 1 is now 18 milliard km far from the Sun. It is going to be traveling 35 years on Sept.5.2012. It's twin 'brother' the Voyager 2 is flying since Aug.20.1977. to different direction around 15 milliard km from us now. (just checked... yes, Voyager 2 was sent first)
Their primary mission was to explore Jupiter/Saturn (V1) and Uranus/Neptune (V2), and now they are still sending information from out there :)

50 GREATEST FILMS ALL TIME

http://www.bfi.org.uk/news/50-greatest-films-all-time

I just finished "Citizen Kane"
... what can I say? Orson Welles: great acting and directing.
... here is the story: little kid in the snow plays with his sledge - he became a famous and rich man and he dies - his last word: 'Rosebud' - some people make movie about his life and want to find out what Rosebud means - they ask others who tell story about Kane, but nobody knows what the fuck is Rosebud stands for - when Kane dies he drops a little "glass ball with snowfall inside" which reminded him on his old sledge: 'Rosebud' printed on the bottom :) - soooo, an insignificant word made some people do huge effort to look for answer which they never found - blah!

... my favorite is still Nacho Libre - Blade Runner - and others :)

The reason I watched the 'long time Nr.1 movie' because I wanted to know why the 1st place.
I don't like it that much, and I don't agree with the decision... but it was worth to watch once.
At least I can say that I know it.

Btw... as more old films I watch as more I realize how shit is the acting and story in today's movies.
Well... of course not in all of them.

.
.
.
1 day later:

Vertigo (from Alfred Hitchcock) : I did not like 'Psycho' at all but this is worse. I watched halfway through and I dunno if I should finish it. This Hitchcock-style is so long and boring. Not to mention the nerve-twisting music. What do people like on it?
Damn, I finished it.. what a stupid movie is this! All the "experts" who voted this for Nr1 should be punished to watch it again and again until they going crazy from the creepy music.. duuuude.. I deleted it straight away.
This is a shit film :))
.
.
.
if you want to watch a good old movie then watch this: 12 Angry Men (1957)

8. started to do workout (Insanity) inside the room, cause jogging is impossible in this rain
9. Rudi the hamster was sick for long time, but he is back in good health again :)

FAITH / KARMA / WHATEVER

My bicycle was stolen :(
Damn!
6pm from a busy parking place from the front of the supermarket.
We went shopping with 2 bikes.. chained them together to the pole.
Good, they left the other bike there :)
I called the police.. they say they can check cctv in the area.
Let's see what they find.

CONCENTRATION

Maaaaan, my mind is so disorganised.. I can't concentrate on the one thing I'm doing. My mind is always distracted. Is always somewhere else. That is why I keep forgetting things. First moment I think about doing this, next moment I already forgot what I wanted, because I saw something and it distracted me.
Pffff.. not good.
I'm telling you.

PEDESTRIANS

... they are sooo stupid! They cross the road while tapping the f*in smartphone, listening shit with headset, and never look around. Most of them really deserve to be hit.. especially those who not using the zebra crossings, and those who don't give a shit if the light is red for them. Pisses me of every day!
Like the sheep.. following the one on the front! It is soo easy and quick to look up - right - left (UK version) and ok, go if no vehicle/bicycle/whatever is not coming.
Couple months ago I hit a man who crossed the road between the cars when the traffic was standing, but he did not think about the bicycle lane. So right at the moment he stepped out from behind the bus I hit him with half speed. Too bad he didn't get injured.... the idiot just walked away, did not say anything, while I was hitting the road in front of the bus! Lamp broke, first wheel damaged, gloves ripped.. great!
People... sorry, animals like this I could wish them really bad things!
"No respect" is one thing I really hate (the other one is "being unfair", just for your information).
 Pedestrians!
Idiots!

SYNERGY AIRCRAFT PROJECT BY JOHN McGINNIS

Congratulations guys for reaching the target :)
I'm glad I also added a small amount for the cool airplane--------> best choice this week :)
I wish you bring it as far as it can go... beyond imagination with new ideas
to build something fantastic for the future!

Great job!

FINALLY SUNSHINE :)

Nice weather this week here in London, after 2-3 weeks of rain. Now I can go jogging again, enjoy the sunshine in the garden or outside on the bike. Makes me feel much much better. Thank God! Now I am going to buy a water-tank and mount it to the wall in the backyard.. so we can take a shower and be lazy under the clear sky!

LAST WEEK'S HAPPENINGS

Ok, here we go...

About that homeless issue: the landlord answered:
"We have been to the garage and cannot find any signs of anyone living there.  If you do see anyone, call the police immediately."
What a STUPID! Obviously they don't give a shit. No more comment :(

Finally my Blackberry was fixed. I payed £50 to have the screen changed. Gotta be careful with these middle-east guys though. First they tried to give me a broken screen. Good that I checked the quality in front of them, so they changed it to a good one. But now my good old 9780 is operational again and ready for everyday usage :)
We have been on the Grand Design London exhibition which gave us plenty of great ideas about building our home and garden. It was a great day, we went there by bicycle and spend the whole day there collecting ideas.

This weekend we have been at the Pet Exhibition. Another experience :) Best part was maybe the rabbit-race and the duck-herding with dogs. But of course hamsters remain my favorites. Dewi fell in love with the chinchilla, so I guess we gonna have one or two later in the next years. They live 20 years and have a supersoft fur. Unfortunately there were millions of kids / baby strollers / and old people in wheelchair. This thing made the crowd even more crowded and took away the feeling of enjoyment of the show. But whatever, it was nice.

Hence the Olympic games getting closer, more police patrolling in our area. Although I must say that there was also more crime happening lately. Couple days ago around midnight I went down to check if the homeless man is in the garage and I met my neighbor. She was chatting on the street with his friend and with another guy. They told me that some young people on bicycle and in mask attacked that guy and took his phone. My neighbor and his friend tried to hush them away but they came to them holding a gun at them. Then they left. Pfff.. fuck!

Last weekend was sunny a bit, so we spent Sunday afternoon in the garden with my neighbor. We grilled chicken, had some beer, and enjoyed the sun. Had my new binocs at hand and was watching the sky, the airplanes, some lost baloons and the birds :) Lovely!

HOMLESS IN THE GARAGE

2pm, daytime! I heard the garage-gate making noise. I went down to check what is that and I found a dirty, stinky man (maybe 35) standing inside the garage. He was a bit scared when I asked him what is he doing here. Tried to apologize and explain to me that he has no place to sleep. He left after I told him that I never want to see him here again.
Now I am a bit worried, because it is very easy to climb over the garage-gate if someone wants to enter. This idiot could tell to his homeless friends about our place and more could join him. I just imagine Dewi goes down early morning to get her scooter and find a bunch of drunk homeless there. It is not safe.
I am not sure what to do, but I already reported to our landlord. Let's see what she has to say about it.

SLAVERS AND WAITERS

Ok, my day went like this: (it was shit)
- 6:10 am - got on bicycle - no rain for the first 5 min - then it started with small raindrops for another 5 min - I didn't have my rainproof trainer on because I thought like this I can still make it to the workplace without getting wet - than it started to rain harder so I stopped under a bridge to get those trousers on - after 1 min the rain stopped and was no more :( Good one!
- this week in London is like this: 30 min raining / 30 min sunshine / repeat this all day
- I entered the restaurant at 6:45 - I saw the bar-beck already working - he supposed to start only at 7am like me - but he is always there earlier - he signs the 'sign-on sheet' from 7-15 as his rota say  - but he start earlier and finish later - why would somebody do this? - working for free for a company which only uses him and never gives him anything, not even raising his salary after 2 years! - that pisses me off.
- ok, first good news of the morning: the nerve-sick supervisor is not there - that guy is a walking stress-bag - so I felt much better and lighter - unfortunately an hour later he appeared and started his shift with us :( - my happiness did not last long.
- the barista (coffee maker) asked me if I checked my salary - every Friday she asks me - and she complained that she got £70 less tronc than normally - (tronc is the money from the service charge) - she said that all the foodloss in the kitchen and all the stupid decoration and all the new deli-shop items and the plumbing, electrical and mechanical charges are payed from our service charge - that made me think about how much money the company pulls out from our pocket - and it made me a very bad mood.
- on top of all I don't make any tips.
- the girl who has quit a month ago, came back because she couldn't find another job - I don't like to work with her - before she called me lazy and she meant it, because she had a little bit more to work that day than usual - whatever, she fucks up my routine every morning now - it's like she's taking away the job I used to do - I hope she goes away again - but better would be if I could find another job and I could quit a.s.a.p.
- the other bar-beck guy is also a piss-off factor - he is soooo dumb and stupid - aaaand extremely slow/comfortable - his English sucks - he should go to a speech therapist - he is winging like a mouse and I cannot understand half of what he mumbles - and he is about to graduate in marketing management - OMG!
- lunch service was an absolute mess again
- the worse part of the day was at the end of my shift: supposed to finish at 3pm - of course not possible because in this place we can never leave on time - this is management fault - they should organize (manage) new (next shift) staff to take over sections - or make our working hours longer - so at 14:55 the bitch told me she will give me test about the new menu in a minute - the bitch is a manager who's got horse-face and thinks she is beautiful - but she is ugly as hell - whatever! - she gave me test at 3:30pm and expected me to fill it out before I leave - she got no respect at all towards me and my free-time - but I filled out the test - then I asked her for my report (to do the cash-out) - she still pushed that extra button: 'before u go plz bring all the cutlery here from the other side' - FUCK U BITCH! - but again, I did what she asked for.
- finished cash-out - 3:45pm - I'm about to leave the building when the bitch barks at me from behind - I did not understand what she said so I went closer to her ('cause she was sitting and having some conversation with one of my colleague) - she said "don't forget the £2 for runners" - WTF? - then I had an argument with her - I don't even have £1, how the hell should I give £2 for the runners??? - of course she did not believe it - I said I cannot prove that I did not make any fuckin' tips today and this is bullshit - why should I give money for the runners when that is their job? - unfortunately when I am angry I can not reasoning - so I left with a boiling brain, I was so pissed.
- what the fuck are these managers thinking? - the company should pay the workers for their job, not the other worker! - Let's check my payslip: for 42 hours/week I got £40 tronc. It is £1/hour - Ridiculous - aaaaand I have to pay tax after the tronc too :)) - Oh yeah baby... money for the government for my service! - and if I'm lucky to get some extra money because SOME customer is willing to leave extra tip above the service charge on the table----I should pay the runners for running the food and drinks what I order for the guests???????? - BULLSHIT!
- so was my lovely day at job ... again :(
- I am sooo stupid - I should look for a better place and not waste my time for this company.

MIRROR, MIRROR IN THE LOO...

Yeah... before vomiting I still could see my face there. I drunk a bit too much last night. I was at a concert in the nearby pub and had a lot of beer with my neighbors. Unfortunately I couldn't handle it and I let it out later in our bathroom. Was good music from the Cowbell (which I wrote earlier about).

The weather fucks up every weekend here in London. It is raining almost every day nowadays. Sitting inside is just loosing precious time for relaxing and regenerating. It's crap.

11.000 STEPS, 14 KM

Hi,
I bought yesterday a pedometer. It looks like a digital watch or beeper, and it measures how many step I do. So I can see how much km I walked and even how much calories I burned. Today I started to work at 7 am and finished at 3 pm. I did around 14-thousand steps = approx. 11 km. That means 50-55km/week walking at the working place. Interesting :)

I also bought a nice binoculars. I felt like when I got my 1st binocs from my grandfather for Christmas. It is such a good feeling to watch the night sky full of stars. And I made a good deal for 20 pounds. :)

ONE MORE TINY LITTLE THING:

I REACHED 10000 KM YESTERDAY (CYCLING TO WORK)

10:46 IN THE MORNING

My laptop screen is dirty.
I was sitting in front of the window and sewing my socks. It was nice and warm from the sunshine. But outside is still cold. Next to me inside the window Dewi's little plants are growing. It seems they really enjoying themselves.
I went down to the garage to check the electricity usage. Everybody was using a bit more last week.
One of my colleague was moving here to Leyton yesterday. I told him I want to visit him, but I didn't call.
I am still jogging and it makes me feel good. God seems to like me doing it, because during that time no clouds are covering the Sun :) Before and after they do.
Would be nice to go boating later in the afternoon and get some bread for the birds. But it's still too windy for that. Maybe I'll ask the neighbor to come jogging, so he can see the lake and how nice the area is.
I go play RoM a bit. Hopefully I can lvl up sec. char by the end of next week.

DREAM

Some people went to the desert and followed an interesting track. They found a bush-sized plant with red flowers on it. When they showed interest, the flowers started to grow. They took the bush with themselves to the city. I was also studying this plant but than it was small, nice and colorful. When I showed happiness and joy, the flowers grew fast. Later I was sitting with more people around the plant showing different emotions. The negative emotions (anger, hate, madness) made the plant change into big bush with only hundreds of small white flowers on it. These white flowers were flashing lights and radiating the bad emotions towards us, playing with our psycho.

SARCASM

It's raining. Saturday and Sunday were cloudy. The next days will be sunny. This is how it goes in London... God has something against this British people. He gives good weather when everybody has to work, and shitty weather during weekends and holidays. Fair enough, thx. We really enjoyed sitting inside the room wasting our loooovely Easter.

HEEEELLLOOOOOOO UP THERE,,,,,, IT IS TIME FOR SUNNY WEEKENDS!

EASTER WEEKEND

4-days holiday :)

On Thursday after work I found the back tire of my bike totally flat. I tried to pump it up but no success. "Must be a BIG hole" - I thought. So how the heck will I get home? No Oyster-card for tube, no cash and no creditcard :) Great! Ok.. I don't want to push it untill home. It would take like 2 hours. So I decided to do the worst thing: Riding my bike with flat tire :) Anyway both tires are already totally worn out, so no problem if it totally rips. (I have to buy new ones later.) So I did, and made it home with a comfortable speed not much more than 30 min :)

Here is a photo about a huge rip on the tire after I changed the damaged inner tube and 1/2-pumped it.

I took Rudi to the vet around 5:30pm. Just wanted to make sure that he is ok, cause he lost weight in the last month. But he still looks good and the doctor said he is fine. He's favorite habit is now stair-climbing. Here he is... our grumpy ninja:

Friday was a lazy day. We went shopping with 2 bicycles. Didn't really prepared to buy a lot of stuff, but at the end the trolley got so full, we were wondering if we can take all the stuff home. But problem solved with boxes... and of course thx the good old 2-wheelers! Was a smart and fun way to deliver the goods to Mr Fridge :)

I cought "Mr Squirry" on camera when she was stealing the birdfood and the peanuts. Very cheeky... always comes and checks if there is something.

On Saturday I had BBQ with my neighbors. Beefsteak brazilian-way: simple and delicious. And had some latvian beer too :) But no photos, sorry.

Today is Sunday and I will to go to buy the new tires for the bike. I also want to clean the house a bit and wash clothes. The weather is shit. Typical british. When weekend comes usually clouds covering the sun. But all week is nice and shiny when we have to work. Stupid weather.
Ok, lets see what will happen today ... :)
Bye.

HESITATION

I am in a dilemma. I got a chance to change job: working in an other restaurant = smaller, calmer, more money, nicer colleagues. But I have to sacrifice my weekends and my free afternoons :( I don't know what to do, because often I get into the situation in my current job, that I could just take off my apron and leave at once. I like my easy life but I also want a change. I guess I will just keep looking until I find something better than this shithole.

To those who know a bit about RoM: I finally got one purple hd ring and I am able to solo DoD normal mode full :) Yessssss!

MY LAST MONDAY OFF

Yes... this is/was my last lovely Monday I could stay home from the job. From next week on I have to get back to the old "5 days a week" working routine. I'm thinking about going for jogging but I'm kinda lazy. Imagining the distance I have to take by bicycle to get to Tesco first, takes 10 min. Because the nice place for jogging in the nature is after the Tesco. Big grassy field, trees, boating lake, etc... pretty. Than getting back from there is a bit cold 'cause - as I always say - "never trust english sun". But I want to get some bread too. And for that I will have to go to my favorite turkish shop, which is on the way to where I do jogging. So I guess I will do both, and on my way back I will buy bread.
This weekend we made the garden a bit nicer. Planted some flowers, made little fencing around them, built a new (improved/advanced) fireplace... which we also tried out. My friend came over for frying fish. Had some wine too, was good. Watched a shitty hungarian movie after that in the evening. Today after Dewi and my friend left I washed all our bedclothes and the laundry, cleaned all the dirty dishes, took shower, played a bit RoM and had a chat with another friend online. Which was very entertaining : lifestory with guitar background.
Ok.. I go.
Bye.

WHAT A SHIT DAY :(

Today's 1st half was absolutely shit for me :) Little annoying things together can make a serious bad mood.
1. Arrived at the restaurant where I (unfortunately - still) work and I found the walkway by the entrance wet because of my freakin' colleague "washing" it. Again. Like every day. Nothing actually changes after he threw a dozen buckets of warm water, but he's doing it because one of our boss told him to do it. So after 45 minutes cycling I have to lift up the bike and carry all the way to the parking place because the wet wheels leave a mark on the shitty wooden floor. If so, I have to clean it up... happened once and I don't want to do it again. Very embarrassing. And who am I upset with: the person who doesn't really deserves it, but still.. he pisses me off.
2. Talking about my colleague: --- no comment. Could be another story :(
3. I'm going to eat before I continue...
4a. Back. After 2 huge sandwiches and a pint of Holsten I lost a big bit of my anger. But I will still try to write in that bad mood so I can present this day in the accurate way.
4b. I haven't been jogging today after work. The weather is grumpy, cloudy... not good. Just like me :) So,
5. Interesting how things develop in time with people. We have a regular guest. He comes almost every day, he has always the same shitty order. Before we had a morning chef who made lots of mistakes and I had to deal with the customers and apologize 1000 times because of this and that. This guy always left a tip on the table. Since we have a new chef and she is really doing a quick and nice job with the breakfast, this guest never leaves a tip. The food is better, he gets it in time, he even gets his 2nd coffee for free now ... but nothing. Fuck him. Hope he never comes back.
6. Jump in time... after briefing.. no, during briefing: that is a BIGTIME waste of time. The floor-staff sit down for a meeting/briefing which takes an hour approximately, talking about bullshit instead of doing something useful. Whatever,
7. after briefing... we have a new waitress: very nice girl, friendly, she got high knowledge about this crap job, and she is always late. It doesn't bother me at all, but I was curious: why she can not arrive on time just for 1 day? Seriously it was just simple curiosity, I don't really give a shit if anybody is late. ('being early' is a different question... see: 'freakin' colleague of mine' above.. no comment). So I asked this girl, do u have another job in the morning or do u live maybe too far and that is the reason u always late? She started to apologize about it and I think she totally misunderstood me. Couple minutes later she came back to me with tears in her eyes and telling me (very very sad) personal reasons what kind of problems she facing these days. And I was shocked and felt really bad that I happened to ask her why she always late. Fuck! But I had no clue, just asked a simple thing trying not to sound like a manager (which I am not), and it turned out pretty bad. Than I apologized and tried to make her (and myself) feel better. I guess it worked, although shortly after this conversation one of my (other differently-freak colleague supervisor fellow staff member) asking me what have I done to the new girl, why I dare to confront her with my questions about her being late all the time???????? --- Hey hey hey, stop for a moment! Have I done something against the law or what? I just asked her why she's late... is that a sin? Idiots. And because he was just shush-mush with the other colleague of mine (which is also very annoying person) I managed to feel very uncomfortable like I am the bad guy because I made someone cry. Oh boy! Where am I working (still)?? .. and why?
8. and after all that shit I shell have a nice lunch service ! Gracie! A kurva anyátokat!

JOGGING

I have a new habit now: jogging. I go every day after work to a big field to run a bit. 1st time was crap... had to stop 3 times in 15 minutes:) 2nd time no stop and much smoother than 1st. Today was the 3rd time i went jogging and it really felt good. I used to do this kind of sport before at university. That time more hardcore... 45min in the forest, hills up and down. Now at age 35 i have to start little by little. But my opinion is that jogging is one of the best conditioner. Helps loosing weight, increases endurance and stamina, makes me feel mentally and physically better.

REST IN PEACE PIMPIM

Pirlimpimpim, our lovely little hamster (2 years old) joined his brother last night at 3:30am. He took his last breath in Dewi's hand after a week fight for his life. He got a tumor and probably the cancer spread out in his body. He lost a lot of weight and strength but he's willing for life was incredible. Even 15 min before he died he drunk and ate and tried to walk but he fell many times. We never had such a great friend who was waiting for us in his last minutes. We are sorry Pimpim that you had to suffer but we are happy that you never gave up. Say hi to Mimion and have fun on the other side! Thanks for all the love and joy u gave us! We'll always love u guys.

BT INFINITY ... TRICKY BASTARDS!

Okay, here it is. The new fiber optic internet from BT (UK).
Fast? - Yes.
Is it a big difference for an average internet user? - Pffff, NO!

What did I get? 2 extra plastic boxes with plugs and MORE cables. Fuck yeah!

If I am not happy with that why did I get it?

Here's the story:

BT always calling landlines with annoying offers. Maybe 2 months ago they offered me the new internet package. I said: thx no, I'm happy with what I got already. They kept calling again and again, and I kept refusing their offer again and again :) Until now :(
So I agreed to get the faster internet just to get rid of their calls.
Do I see any difference? No!
.
.
.
...actually YES I do. Now I got and extra hub and a freakin' modem sitting in my window.
Before this I got the hub (functioning as the phone-base and charger) together with the landline phone... all in one!!! How nice.
The BT Infinity package did not include phone, but they gave that shit modem with the hub. And because sometimes I want to use the phone, I had to keep the old hub too. So now I have 3 boxes and cables everywhere. I hate cables.

Why I say BT is tricky? Because they told me that I will have faster internet (on same price) and I will have my phone too, like before. But they never told me about the details: that I will have to keep the old phone with the hub if I want to use the phone and in addition I will get the new hub and modem to use the fiber optic internet.
They did not lie to me... they just did not give full information. Clever boys.

I am trying to get rid of all shit what makes our home look like a charity shop... and here we are: more crap.
Thank u very much!

I'M OUT

Don't look for me any more on facebook... I deactivated my account. I think I will delete it soon too. I also deleted my profile from my hungarian social networkin site. Never used it really. I had it 6 years long. That's it. Feels good somehow:)

GOOD NEWS - BAD NEWS

Today Dewi successfully finished her CBT test. Now we only need the registration done and she can ride the scooter.
She is getting better day by day from the tracheo bronchitis but healing goes slowly.
Pirlimpimpim is old and this week he lost a lot of weight for some reason. We hope that he will get back to normal soon as a cute well-shaped hamster.
I forgot to write when I hit a stupid pedestrian with the bicycle. Yes, people are crossing the road by red light, they don't care about traffic and I ran into one of them with full speed. I landed on the road but the idiot just walked away. Luckily only my lamp broke but I was really pissed. Fuckin' idiots!
Our neighbours moved out last week and the owner is renovating the empty flat. The workers broke the padlock from the garage without asking anyone for the key. On top of that we are not allowed to put new padlock any more because it is against the fire regulations...the firemen can not enter if there is a fire. Cars, bicycles, scooters, gardening tools, etc are in the garage... and we must not lock it! Unbelievable!
I have 12 days payed holidays left until April, so I took 7 Mondays off. Which means that in the next 2 months I will have to work only 4 days a week :)

SNOW IN LONDON

Finally last night we had shitload of snow in London.
Here, I can prove :)

ZNEN SCOOTER

Hello, this is our new Chinese scooter. No more tube, no more bus, no more public transportation for Dewi, unless it is really really necessary. Too many sick people stuck together, too high risk to catch a virus from them.

COMPAL iFL90/91 LAPTOP

Yes, fixed again !!!

This is my good old friend. Purchased in 2007 from Cyberpower Inc. online.
Still working, still running, almost every day since I got it. And today I made it last a bit more longer again :)
About a year ago the GPU got tired and I had a black-screen issue. I fixed the problem putting the videocard into the oven on 200*C for 10-15 min. Until yesterday this lovely machine was running with no crash at all. But yesterday I experienced a new problem: I got graphic errors on screen and the laptop was restarting all the time. Also the screen got tiled up to 6 'smaller parts' making impossible to use the system normally. So I had to do the oven-solution again. It seems to be working, and I hope it will keep this great computer alive for another long period. Thanks to God I can use it again :)

WEEKEND IS HERE ... AGAIN :)

Hi,

My phone got wet in the zipped pocked of my waterproof jacket! Great!
Now it's not working. I took it to part piece by piece and dried the whole thing. But still dead.
Than yesterday I asked one of the guest in the restaurant to try his battery in my phone. (I saw he got same model like mine.) And tadaaaa.. worked. Now I need to buy new battery and phone will be ok.

Icebloodjake has now the best mage staff in game. Reached lvl p70/s65/r55. Got many new friends to party up with...and recently got tips how to make shitload of gold :)

Got flat tyre on new bike :( Here in London the roads are full of crap, although they've been cleaned every day.

Dewi's got serious coughs from the flu. Can't sleep well and suffers a lot. We will buy a moped for her so she doesn't have to use public transportation any more. 'Cause the people there are careless when they sneeze or cough. Easy to catch a virus.

Got lucky again in the job. I found 40 pounds :)

Hamsters are good.

That's it for now.

WHAT I REALLY WANT

...is a job from home :)

...because:
- I would be my own boss,
- I would have time to take care of my physical condition (jogging, etc),
- I would decide when to work and how much,
- I would have a chance to eat properly at the right time,
- I wouldn't have to listen to supervisors, managers, bosses,
- and there would be no stress,
- I could live a healthy life,
- I wouldn't have to wake up too early and get home too late.

While I was thinking about all these things during the day I also formed a new opinion about teamwork.

Teamwork is preferred by those who are unable to do the job alone.

I am an individual person when it is about working. Alone I am more effective, faster and I can do a higher quality job than in a team.
I am Hungarian, and in this case I am proud of it!

NEW BICYCLE

Today I was cycling to work with my new bicycle.
Fast and light and white :]

I got it from Dewi for Christmas. Unfortunately after we unpacked it I noticed a small damage and we had to make photos and send an email to the seller. They responded pretty fast and couple days later we got the replacement part. So all good now, machine is rolling.

Before I started to use it I had to buy some extras to make sure it will fit for the British weather. It's raining a lot these days. Mudguards, lights, bag, some tools, etc.

Well, I made the same distance maybe 10 min faster than with the old bike. Now 10km takes 25 min.

2012 --- 1ST POST

Happy New Year to all of you people!

I got back to London 3 hours ago and midnight was gone like it never happened :) (It is 2am btw.)
I spent the last week back home in Hungary with Dewi and with my family. Everything was very nice,
except my "home-allergy": sneezing all the time from the dry air. But now we r back to London and have no problem with that.
So, Christmas was good, we even had a bit snow left from the previous week.
I wish I brought my new telescope home, because the sky is incredible clear at night and millions of stars are visible. Not like here :(
Our hamsters are fine, thx to Marcin, my neighbour, who came over and gave them food.
I finished with my bank account in Hungary. I only had some overdraft and was no reason to keep it.
Just checked for a minute what is going on in the world of RoM. Guild is dead, dunno if it is worth to keep playing? I bought a computer magazin at the train station and read about SWTOR. Since I am an old Star Wars fan I was thinking about to try the new game.
I am pretty much amazed how cool is the TV what I won and sent to my parents. Too bad that my hometown sucks regarding to offering digital channels.
I had interesting experiences on our holiday week and I will write about it in the next post. It will be a bit negative but only with a constructive purpose. But I will be realistic as well... so no hope as I see things :)
Well, we are tired from the journey and the best will be to hit the bed and sleep until it feels good.

So good night, have fun if u partying, and I wish u a 2012 which will prove that the world we know will still live on with all the good and bad things what is part of humanity, and will give us thousands of new discovery to make us keep going forward towards the unknown. Hopefully with respect to nature and responsibility to keep our kind alive ;) Amen!
